Inside This Victoria’s Secret Angel’s Fantasy Wedding Dress Fitting

Chanel Iman was born and raised in Los Angeles, and quickly made a name for herself as one of the fashion industry’s most sought after super models. In an era of notoriety, overexposure, and the “all press is good press” mentality, Chanel Iman remains a beacon of class and grace, and old school Hollywood unreachability.

However, despite her generally private nature in this paparazzi stricken era of Snapchat scandals and Instagram Direct Message snafus, she sat down with American magazine Vogue recently to tell the story of exactly how she found her dream wedding dress.

Chanel Iman gave all the credit to her long time stylist. Ever the modest woman, she insisted that it was her stylist’s aesthetic that dominated her wedding dress choice. “My stylist, Anita Patrickson, really took control and handled dressing the entire wedding party,” said Chanel. “We’ve worked together for more than five years, so she has a real understanding of what I gravitate toward.”

Chanel is a classic beauty, and appropriately, she didn’t want to go with something overly faddish for 2018. She decided to stick towards a conservative and timeless style. “[I wanted] something that I would like for years to come and that wouldn’t feel dated as trends change,” she says.

Chanel Iman has rocked gorgeous gowns by Zuhair Murad multiple times on the Red Carpet – and has even walked down the runway in several of his shows. So he was a natural choice for her wedding dress designer. “His pieces always fit and complement my body, and his beadwork is exquisite,” said the model.

The love definitely goes both ways. “Chanel is a fashion chameleon,” Murad said. “She can easily morph from a cool street style [look] to black-tie formal, and I’ve had the pleasure of dressing her in a full range of my designs, from a sexy silhouette with cut-outs to a ball gown with a train. No matter what look she decides to wear, she’s always effortlessly beautiful.”
