Victoria’s Secret Angel and supermodel Shanina Shaik looks good in pretty much everything, but still had the typical wedding dress anxiety that brides-to-be experience before their big day. After searching for a dress for a while, designer label Ralph & Russo offered to make her a dress.
In an interview with Vogue, Shanina explained, “I had to say ‘yes’ as Tamara [Ralph] and Michael [Russo] design the most stunning gowns,” says Shanina. “I’m lucky to have a custom dress made by them. I sent inspiration pictures, and Tamara put her twist on it and sketched a few options for me to review. From there, I selected what I liked the best, and we worked together to pick lace as well as a color that I wanted. The whole process took around 8 months, but in the end, we came up with the dress that I have always dreamt off.”
“As a surprise for our guests, we had DJ Rev Run do a performance, and DJ KISS and DJ Politik played sets throughout the night.” Michael Castello, a personal friend of Shanina, made a second dress for her to wear during the reception. “I wanted to wear a dress that was very flowy and easy to move in,” she says. “I knew we were going to dance the night away!”
Shanina and her husband Andrew met in one of the cutest ways we’ve ever heard. “We had mutual friends and exchanged friendly hellos, but never spoke more than two minutes,” said Shanina.
Then, the two Australians had a chance encounter at the California music festival Coachella. “Just before I was going to leave, Greg noticed that I was alone and came over to speak with me. We [ended up having] the most wonderful conversation and from that moment on we spent the remainder of the weekend together listening to music at the festival. I knew he was the one.”
