The “Markle Effect” On Other Royal Weddings

She has become quite the fashion icon since taking her new royal status this year, but Meghan Markle is proving to be catching the eye of other royals too. In fact, her wedding day look caught the attention of Princess Deniz of Bavaria who loved it so much, she wore something similar on her own wedding day.

Deniz Kaya, who is now Princess Deniz of Bavaria, wore a long-sleeve ivory gown with a similar silhouette and boat neckline like the Duchess of Sussex. A slight difference, however, is that this royal princess chose to have her dress all in lace. The “Markle effect” has been having a great effect on many fashion and jewelry industries, which came into action since the former actress was linked to Prince Harry. Only now, she is proving to inspire bridal trends too.

Like Meghan, Kaya kept her makeup simple and natural, as well as opting for a middle-parted bun. She finished her look with a veil, but did not have a tiara borrowed from the Queen of England like Meghan had. Rather, she wore diamond earrings and carried a cream-colored floral bouquet for her nuptials to Prince Konstantin of Bavaria. The royal couple reportedly tied the knot in a lavish church in Switzerland, with many royal guests in attendance.

Meanwhile, ever since she showed off her highly anticipated wedding dress back in May, many designers have attempted to replicate Meghan Markle’s wedding look for others to have for themselves. Bridal designers have made it easy for brides-to-be to wear a similar dress to the Duchess of Sussex for their big day, with Floravere calling theirs the “M.Markle” and pricing it at $1,500. Meanwhile, Nordstrom sells a similar mermaid-style version of the gown for a more expensive price tag of $3,480. If it’s good enough for Meghan, it’s good enough for us!
