Before selling their Bel Air mansion, Kimye poured a reported $2 million into massive renovations. Inspired by a visit to Versailles, they decided to redesign their whole estate, a legitimate move made by the newly-wed couple. Along with the gym, glam room, basketball court, and movie theater, Kim and Kayne spent a massive amount of their budget on four Louis XIV-style gold-plated toilets. Their house was renovated, but then they had a change of heart, buying and moving into a home in Hidden Hills.

Most people have houseplants or candles as home decor. Kris Jenner took home-design to a whole new level. The momager had a hyper-realistic, life-sized wax figure of herself made, but instead of putting it in a museum, like other celebrity wax figures – hers is used as decoration. Kim took to Instagram to show fans the life-size figure, in awe of how accurate it is, “this is her exact hairline. I can’t even tell you how creepy and amazing this is.”

When you wake up in the middle of the night and are in the mood for a midnight snack, your go-to is probably some fruit or a bag of pretzels, right? Well, Kim’s favorite snack is, drumroll please…frozen yogurt. The businesswoman has an impressive, commercial-looking frozen yogurt machine that is the size of most people’s refrigerators. Her pantry is full of identical glass receptacles, Lazy Susans, glittery sprinkles, and everything you could ever dream of putting on top of frozen yogurt.

Following the success of her cosmetics line, Kylie created custom furniture themed around her Kylie Cosmetics line, which made her an enormous fortune. We’re not sure if this is entirely unnecessary or extremely creative – we promise we’re not judging! Her dining room features leather chairs in various shades of pink that matched the colors of her lipstick kits. In her living room, there is a modern bronze side table with a melted effect, resembling the drip design on Kylie’s lip kit packaging.

Kylie Jenner owns so many bags – she had to convert one of her house’s bedrooms to fit her estimated 400 designer bags. Yes, you read that right, 400! The room features floor-to-ceiling custom white shelves and mirrored walls. Her collection includes vintage Dior saddle bags, Supreme, lipstick-shaped Judith Leiber clutches, and many Louis Vuitton bags. Her favorite row is her Birkin Bag shelf – Kris also has a custom closet dedicated to Birkin Bags. Like mother, like daughter!

When building the Bel Air mansion, Kimye had big plans for a bowling alley inside the house. We now know that they gave those plans up for a (very) minimalist interior design in the house in which they raise their four children.

Investing in a shoe collection seems a bit unnecessary, especially when it comes to a baby – toddlers’ feet grow at a rapid pace. But, when you’re the world’s youngest billionaire, you want the very best for your daughter. Kylie showed off Stormi’s huge shoe collection – a collection hard to compete with. The two-year-old has a shoe for every occasion, including some vintage kicks from her dad, rapper, Travis Scott. Kylie prides herself on a well-dressed baby, and we do not doubt that Stormi’s style will blossom with time!

Having ten grandchildren is no joke, and Kris Jenner knows how to spoil every one of hers. Unnecessary yet charming, we have this Louis Vuitton music box, which Kris bought for granddaughter, Chicago. Kim showed the gift off on an Instagram story. The box features a rotating figurine of a little girl and plays “Rock-A-Bye-Baby.” The music box sells for $3,350, and we’re wondering if, at that price, the music box ensures that the baby sleeps all night long!

Earning the salary that she does, it comes as no surprise that Kylie proudly shows off a sign spelling out “PLASTIC.” The neon decor hanging in Kylie’s glam room cost her a hefty $10,000. Why did a plastic neon sign cost the young mogul ten thousand dollars, you may be asking yourselves? Well, that is because it is a 48×13 art installation by Beau Dunn. Dunn is an American Contemporary Mixed Media Artist based in Los Angeles, California.

Khloe makes no secret of the fact that she loves to spoil her daughter, True, though she often gets criticized for it. She bought True a pink baby Bentley convertible before True could even walk – somewhat of a tradition among the Kardashian/Jenner cousins, who, in all honesty, could open up a car dealership if they decided to join forces. The sparkly car was an adorable first ride, and True looked adorable in it!

In essence, Kylie displays a vase of flowers made out of money that was a gift from the fashion designer, Alexander Wang.

This may sound like a joke, but we’re not kidding. This is one heck of an unnecessary item – a way to let everyone know that they’re well off. Kim bought gold pacifiers encrusted with diamonds, which is the way to go when you want to show off how you can spend more than 100 thousand dollars on them. This seems like somewhat of an exaggeration to us, considering pacifiers are the one thing babies lose more than anything!

Don’t get us wrong, we love candles…just not at much as Khloe does. Along with fresh flowers, candles seem to be placed in every corner of her home. The thing is, she isn’t buying generic candles the way we are – Khloe has a massive candle budget, which, if you ask us, is a bit unnecessary. One of her favorites is Voluspa Grande Maison Candle in French Bourbon Vanille, so if you’re in the luxurious mood, buy yourself a candle, and you’ll be one step closer to becoming a Kardashian-Jenner.

Although it may seem that like all of the inessential items in this family’s possession are big and eyecatching, we’re happy to put that notion to rest. Sometimes, the smaller the detail, the more unnecessary. In Kylie’s office, there are little bowls of pink Starbursts, and M&Ms printed with her face. Kylie explained that she didn’t want the office to be overwhelmingly pink, so they just added some pink details, like the Starbursts.

If you ever wanted to feel like a Kardashian, the best way to get there is by ordering a gigantic rose arrangement that spells out someone’s name. The family is known for going above and beyond when it comes to celebrating big days. For the birth of Chicago West, Aunt Khloe sent the newborn roses. She didn’t send a regular bouquet, rather, wrote “Chic” in a larger than life arrangement looked to have about several hundred roses. It is also rumored that Kim spent $20 thousand on roses for her baby shower!

The average rocking horse is around $50 and is suitable for kids. The Kim Kardashian version is life-sized and has 82,000 Swarovski crystals encrusted into it. The horse is hand-built, and each crystal was placed in by hand. The rocking horse has a lockable compartment in its belly, just in case you need a little more storage space. And of course, each horse is marked with a number so that the whole world will know that they have an original!

Leave it to the Kardashians to purchase one of the world’s most expensive teddy bears. To welcome her third child, Chicago, Kim splurged on several designers and diamond-encrusted toys for her little girl. This one-of-a-kind Louis Vuitton teddy bear was made from premium denim and wore a Supreme tee shirt. Of course, the teddy is emblazoned with Louis Vuitton’s logo, and although one would think a stuffed-animal this expensive should be life-sized, it is not, it is your average sized teddy.

Although they may seem superhuman, celebrities often have weird habits and pet peeves. One of Kim’s weirdest customs is blow drying her jewelry before putting it on. In a 2011 tweet, Kim admitted that she has a special blow dryer for her jewelry and that she uses it before putting it on because the feeling of cold jewelry gives her the chills. It seems like a good idea, we’re just not sure our jewelry can take the heat of a blow dryer!

When you’re the world’s youngest self-made billionaire, it makes sense that you would have so many cars, although, to us, it seems a bit unnecessary. The mogul has a massive luxury car collection, including a Bentley Betayga, a custom-made Range Rover, and a Mercedes G-Wagon. Jenner loves her cars – she reportedly has at least two Ferraris, one that was gifted to her by her ex-boyfriend, Travis Scott.

With four children around the dining table, it makes one question who is going to clean up all the spills?

Kim’s new home has two kitchens. That is correct, one kitchen is the main kitchen of the house, but it is vacant of any use. Kim has a second secret kitchen with a dedicated staff that prepares the family’s meals for them. Sure, money can buy many luxuries, but if you have a functioning kitchen, what is the use of having it just for show? It is possible that it could be used for entertaining guests, but there is no actual purpose to it.

This is a family of women who have become famous for their voluptuous curves and lavish lifestyles. Therefore, one would find it odd that several of the Kardashian women have pantries stocked with sweet treats and cookie jars. Perhaps, it is mostly for their children, but as a parent, it would still be wise to limit your child’s intake of sugar. What is most weird about these pantries, is how all the sweets are simply stacked like it is an exhibit. Not one thing is out of place.

In a recent picture shared by Kim, in which she is shown with her family, they are seen sitting on what appears to be an oversized stuffed elephant toy. However, the proportions of the poor thing make one question what planet it is from. It certainly does not look like any African or Indian elephant, but it has a trunk. It makes you believe that if Bambi were to see it, the cartoon character would have psychological issues for a long time to come.

Of course, Khloe Kardashian would spend $3,800 on a Chanel Backpack – making it on this list of completely unnecessary items. Spending a small fortune on a backpack that is probably filled with workout clothes or lipstick doesn’t seem like something one would need – but the Kardashians can allow themselves to spend these amounts of money, so why wouldn’t they go all out? Her Chanel Graffiti Backpack is nowhere near as luxurious as other Chanel bags, yet it is one she has been seen with on various occasions! At least it comes to good use!

We understand that birthdays are a big deal in the Kardashian/Jenner family, but do you think a two-year-old is going to remember such an extravagant party?

The youngest Kardashian-Jenner, Kylie, purchased her second home when she was just 18 years old. The $6 million mansion is a beautiful Cape Cod style home that has six bedrooms in it – meaning that the young billionaire has five extra bedrooms that are seldom used. Kylie left her Calabasas property to be closer to her mother – moving into the same Hidden Hills neighborhood her mother was living in. Along with the six bedrooms, the mansion boasts seven bathrooms, a pool, a wine cellar, and of course a huge walk-in closet.

As we all know, Kim loves her selfies – so much so that in 2015 she released a photo book full of them. The book features Kim’s selfies, collecting various images she shot throughout the years. When Selfish was released, Kim mentioned that she has been taking pictures of herself for decades, “I took my first selfie in 1984, and that opens up the book.” Although the 445-page book of selfies may seem a little unnecessary, it recieved positive reviews from the critics!

It’s no surprise that Kim spends a tremendous amount of time on hair, makeup, and nails. It’s so important to her that there is a clause in her will that specifies that her “glam” must be done to a tee, no matter what. In an interview with Elle magazine, Kim stated that even if she was so out of it, she couldn’t even communicate, she expects to be camera-ready post-mortem. “I want to look as good as possible,” she noted.

During an interview with The New York Times in 2015, Kris revealed that one of her bathrooms was covered in black marble. Sounds legitimate, right? Well, her black marble matches her black toilet paper! In a 2013 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim was heard complaining about the toilet paper, “I like to see what … I’m wiping.”

Scenes filmed in Khloe’s house are hard to miss – considering she has many hand-stacked two-gallon glass cookie jars in her kitchen. Considering she seldom enjoys the sweets, this seems slightly unnecessary, but Khloe won’t give them up as they are a crucial part of her kitchen display. She calls her need for perfectly aligned cookies, “KHLO-C-D.” She even posted a video to her website, teaching fans to stack cookies – a trick momager Kris has adopted. Khloe didn’t let her mom off the hook – she called her out for stealing her trick, saying, “I taught her everything she knows.”
