When it comes to candles, you have a lot of options regarding how a candle smells. There are even a few scents that we recoil from because they’re simply barbaric.

For example, we can’t imagine that even if you love ketchup, that you’d want your whole home to smell like it. This candle seems like it wouldn’t leave your home feeling cozy and clean at all. In fact, we can only imagine that a ketchup-scented candle would be pretty awful.

Going to the dentist can be a scary experience for anyone. After all, no one really likes going to a doctor’s appointment where they might have to have a procedure done.

This is why many children’s dentists try to make their waiting rooms inviting with toys or games. This dentist’s office took an alternative route that turned out absolutely barbaric. We can’t say we’d feel at ease sitting in a giant mouth waiting to hear someone call us back.

There are some things that are definitely possible but you still shouldn’t do them. They might not serve as a dangerous activity but they reach into a morally barbaric area.

Plus, we’re not too sure that filling a cupholder in your car with sauce wouldn’t have some dangerous effects. To start off, we hope that they at least cleaned the cupholder first. Secondly, how exactly do they plan to get all of that sauce out when they’re done? There are many better ways to do this.

There are some things that you just don’t want near your birthday cake. We have to say that cockroaches are one thing that usually doesn’t go well with a birthday cake.

To anyone who isn’t in on the joke here, this looks like an unappetizing offer of sweets. We have to wonder what went behind this barbaric design choice. Was it something that the birthday person knew about or was this a detailed practical joke for their birthday?

The good news is that this person’s phone case isn’t quite as unsettling as a cockroach birthday cake. The bad news is that the design is still fairly barbaric in practice.

Yes, this phone case is well-made and it does its job in looking like a frying pan. However, we can only presume that this would work inefficiently when it comes to scrolling through your feed or trying to type a text message. Best of all, there’s no way your phone would fit in your pocket again.

There are certain barbaric acts that just never work out. We’ve found one of them in this picture. It’s best to leave carpeting out of the bathroom.

While a rug might be fine, a carpeted bathroom floor won’t hold up well to all the moisture in that environment. This designer seems to have pushed this concept to the limits, though. There’s even carpeting on the sides of the bathtub as well as the floor! It seems like keeping this clean would cause a problem.

For the most part, everyone wants to do what’s best for their pets. Sometimes, this means having fun with them, even if the result is cursed.

We have to wonder what prompted this person to keep all of this hair and make a wig rather than tossing it out. While it’s technically not bad for the dog to touch their old hair, it’s still upsetting to see a dog wearing a wig of their own, discarded fur.

There’s a lot of room for creativity when you start a hobby like creating your own die. This person might have had a little too much freedom in this project.

As we said, there are plenty of great options out there with a lot of potential. This idea was doomed from the start, it seems. We have to wonder what prompted this person to decided that the aesthetic their die needed was a Spaghettios base. The sharp angles are particularly upsetting.

A good rule of thumb about any sports equipment is that it’s worth it to invest in quality. Poor quality equipment can quickly lead to something unfortunate.

For example, if you don’t snowboard with an actual snowboard, you’re likely to get hurt. Other items just don’t always have the same safety requirements. One thing that surely doesn’t have these requirements met is a pair of boots taped to a piece of cardboard. Here’s to hoping this “board” never saw any action.

Technically, you could say that this is a realistic look at what’s inside Kermit’s head. Still, that doesn’t mean there isn’t something cursed about this figurine.

For one, it’s simply an upsetting concept. Replacing the head of a familiar character is already pretty unsettling. It seems even worse that the hand still featured Kermit’s eyes as if only the felt of the puppet was removed. It’s even stranger that this is the only thing they changed.

There are a lot of benefits to having an easy dinner on hand from time to time. It can help save time and give you a tasty dinner in a shorter time period than cooking it from scratch.

Not every easy meal at the store is as good as they say, though. This one might be delicious but it also seems pretty unnecessary. There doesn’t seem like a reason to make this macaroni in a round orb to boil.

Once again, we’re looking at a puzzling decision to use food for a non-food purpose. It doesn’t even have to do with growing the food either!

Instead, these food items were incorporated into nail art that we just can’t quite understand. If these look good or not is aside from the point, we’re mostly curious about wearing them in practice. The end of the repurposed food they used isn’t even incased in the nail! That seems like it might get in the way until you get used to them.

Sometimes, the events that we look at as barbaric aren’t all created to make people uncomfortable. There are times that things just happen that you wish wouldn’t have at that moment.

As an example, this person had just taken the time to clean and mop their home. That’s why it was so upsetting when they immediately managed to undo all their hard work by dropping something all over the floor. Maybe the mop is still handy and ready to go, at least.

It’s interesting to see how much is in the eye of the beholder. There are some controversial concepts that people have wildly differing opinions on.

One of the most common topics that fall into this category is whether pineapple belongs on pizza. This person took that debate in another direction, though. How does a pizza on a sliced pineapple make you feel? We can’t think of any topping that would serve well as a crust replacement.

All we can say about this nail art is that they aren’t losing any points for creativity. Practicality, on the other hand, is an entirely separate matter.

While the design on these nails isn’t awful at the start, it just keeps going too far. Instead of stopping at one nail, they managed to link multiple nails together with metal hoops. We would hope that this person doesn’t need to type up an email or try to wash some dishes anytime soon. These just don’t seem functional.

As we’ve stated already, there are times that these things happen by chance. You don’t mean to create something unsettling but it happens all the same.

This person just wanted to follow a recipe online. To be fair, these recipes are sometimes touted as much easier than they actually are. One way or another, it seems like this recipe managed to end this person’s cake craving, although we wish it’d been thanks to a slice of tasty satisfaction.

Many people with hardwood floors add rugs to their homes. It can make things seem warmer and more inviting and it offers some visual variety in the room.

These homeowners probably don’t get a lot of warmth underfoot out of this carpet. That’s because instead of buying an actual rug, they went to the extreme of carving one into the floor. We have to say, even if it’s not quite functional, this definitely shows off some artistic talent.

When something has no purpose, it’s usually something for decoration. Yet, if no one wants to look at that creation, does it still count as a decoration?

That might not quite be fair – we’re sure there’s someone out there who loves this rock. Still, we have to question how high the demand is for a rock with lips. Maybe it’s actually a very competitive market but it seems a little unsettling to brighten up a garden.

There’s nothing quite as good as a big bowl of soup on a dreary day. Still, you can quickly create a disaster by overflowing the bowl.

At first glance, this image seems pretty satisfying. The soup is perfectly filling the bowl to its entirety – there’s not even a drop spilling down the side! That is, so long as you don’t jostle the bowl at all or dip a spoon into it. Really, it’s a satisfying sight until you think about it in practice.

If you want to stay fit even if you don’t get the chance to exercise much, you might make small changes. For instance, you might try to use the stairs more.

This person decided that the concept of stairs just wasn’t difficult enough. That’s why they opted for a climbing wall to help them get to the second floor. This seems like fun at first but a pain to get down early in the morning or when you want a glass of water in the middle of the night.

The interesting thing about looking at real estate is there are a lot of different designs that architects experiment with. Some of them are particularly unique.

This architect opted for a design that other architects didn’t dare attempt. Well, at least, they didn’t want to attempt this design. We have to say, we hope that the person who owns this property is a fan of shingles since their house is mostly made of roofing!

When you first look at this jug of milk, you might not notice what’s wrong. At a glance, it just looks like a jug of chocolate milk.

Reading the label on this milk reveals the upsetting truth. This isn’t chocolate milk at all – the added flavor is root beer! These two beverages are so different, it’s almost difficult to imagine what this must taste like. It’s probably safe to assume it’s probably not very good.

If there’s an important rule to survival that everyone should know, it’s that you shouldn’t just eat anything you see. If you aren’t completely sure, it’s easy to accidentally eat something bad for you.

In other words, you shouldn’t use the method that this person apparently did. We assume that they decided this wasn’t the type of mushroom that they enjoyed since they left it after only one bite. It’s also strange that they left it on the tree to bite it.

This image is pretty alarming at first! It looks like this dog is eating his fill of a wedding cake which doesn’t sound good for any party involved!

The shocking part is that this isn’t a dog at all. The dog taking a bite out of the cake is actually made of cake himself! This image doesn’t offer much in regards to scale but it seems like this is a large creation that would take quite a while to make.

It’s hard to properly keep up with landscaping at times. Things can grow fast, after all, and tools specialized for taking care of areas like your hedges can be costly.

One way around it is the method this person took. Although, we can’t imagine that setting up a crane with a riding lawn mower must take more time and resources than a lot of other options. We can’t say that this method looks like the safest way to tackle this either.

Admittedly, this entry has left us more than a little impressed. It takes a lot of talent to make something like this by hand, even if it is slightly upsetting.

The detail here is amazing and they did exactly what they set out to do. They created a realistic rendition of a Woody doll. Still, there’s something about seeing a realistic version of a cartoon character that seems just slightly wrong just for the sake of being different than how people are used to seeing it.

If you’re trying to learn how to keep plants alive, succulents are an oft-recommended place to start. This is because they don’t take as much care as a more fickle plant.

However, saying that they can survive “anywhere” is really put to the test with this nail art. How would you water these plants? It also seems like it would get in the way of your daily tasks. After all, they’re pretty irregularly shaped nails to get used to wearing.

Next time, it might be worth investing in getting a change like this done professionally rather than relying on duct tape.

We’ve looked at quite a few things that seem horrific while others were just striking. Where this entry falls really depends on your personal taste.

This guitar is made for more than just allowing a musician to play it. In addition to that, the guitar is carved so that it looks like it’s playing guitar too. If nothing else, this seems like a wonderful bonding moment for the musician and the guitar to have the chance to play at the same time.

Interior designers and architects have a lot of room to be creative. Even classic home components can be altered to fit the style the designer wants.

There are some styles that just don’t quite work. Aesthetically, we can see how these illuminated stairs were meant to break the mold. However, there’s a reason that stairs are so uniform. It only seems like a matter of time before someone slips on these. This could have been avoided entirely with a different design.

There are a lot of people who decorate a Christmas tree in the winter every year. Some people even spend a lot of time making sure their Christmas tree looks exactly how they want.

Instead of going for a traditionally festive look, this family decided they needed something a little more realistic. As a result, they decided that switching out the top of the tree with a figure of Queen Elizabeth I. Even the decorations and presents underneath match the theme!

Things break in your home sometimes and that can be a major inconvenience. There are times that it just isn’t the right time to hire someone to fix it or you simply don’t want to deal with it.

For some reason, this person decided they could use an old Mountain Dew bottle to replace an old showerhead. This might work for now but it doesn’t seem like a good long-term solution. We also wonder if the bottle fills up too much at any point and causes a problem.

There are quite a few different reasons that you’d want to invest in good shoes. For one, it protects your feet from harmful elements and can help you fit fashionable expectations.

On the other hand, sometimes you might have to wear shoes when you just don’t want to. If you want to make a statement at your next office meeting, you could try these dress shoes with toes. If nothing else, this will definitely make a statement your coworkers won’t forget anytime soon.

When it comes to making healthy snacks appetizing to kids, you can always bring their favorite characters into the kitchen. This person was taking a little inspiration from Monsters Inc.

To be fair, it was a valid attempt to recreate one of the main characters, Mike Wazowski. Yet, using kiwis might not have been the best idea. While they’re recognizable, they look like they’ve met a terrible fate along the way. We have to wonder how long this took as well.

It seems like chefs are always looking for a way to take their plating technique to the next level. What can they do to give their food a visual impact when it comes to the table?

This is definitely unforgettable but we’re not quite as sure that it looks like we want to chow down. It’s a pretty impressive rendition of shoes made out of food but shoes aren’t typically something people want to eat out of.

Like we said, home repair isn’t always easy. Not to mention, it’s tempting to just repair what should be replaced. Yet, this looks almost purposeful.

First of all, we have to wonder how this part of the couch went missing. Secondly, what prompted them to solve the problem by just putting a chair in the missing section of the couch? It seems almost more reasonable to just use the couch in the background as the primary couch instead.

Unfortunately, this Furby-related entry doesn’t come with a beautifully painted still-life. Instead, this veers closer to the Furby’s rather unsavory and creepy status.

Making a long Furby has been a trend for a while now. This person took that concept to the next level by adding arms, hands, fingernails, and horns to their new long Furby. We don’t know whether we should be impressed or if it’s best to stay far away from this Furby creation.

There are some things that you see when you’re shopping for furniture that you hate but can see how someone else might like it. These lamps are pretty questionable no matter the audience.

There’s something inherently creepy about lamps designed to look so realistically like people. It’s somehow even worse that they’re posed in lifelike conditions. Even aside from looks, they’re so large and awkward for a lamp that it seems like you’d need a lot of room for them.

Special effects makeup and body paint are amazing skills to have. Even when things look unsettling, there’s no doubting that the artist is incredibly talented.

This person obviously showed off their talent in a way that definitely makes most viewers uncomfortable. The ice cream on their leg looks photorealistic and the “scooped” part has obvious depth. In fact, it looks almost too good and leaves us feeling a little uncomfortable about this ice cream from a human leg.

Fashion is one of those areas where it’s easy to blur the lines between what’s trendy and what isn’t. However, it’s pretty easy to tell that this is a weird choice of accessory.

Instead of opting for a standard bag decorated with embroidery, labels, leatherwork, or more, this bag is part sculpture. It looks almost too much like a real raw chicken, still on the styrofoam tray. Surely, this is a bag that will turn heads, one way or another.

Once again, it’s not the concept of a project that’s upsetting. Instead, it’s the choice of materials that makes people wonder what exactly happened leading up to a decision.

For instance, creating a mask isn’t inherently bad. Yet, that changes when you notice that this mask is made up entirely of baby doll parts. This leaves us wondering why this person made this mask. What was it for? What possibly inspired it? How many doll parts did it take in total to make this?

This painting, much like the Woody doll, is excellent. It obviously shows that this artist has an incredible amount of skill and planning.

The only thing that really leaves this painting to fall on this list is the choice to put a Furby in this still life. There’s something ironic about adding such a mundane – and by some views, creepy – toy and putting it into a well-done still life. On the bright side, that Furby looks pretty relaxed next to that pear.

For this one, we can see where they were going. Adding a children’s character to a dental care product for kids isn’t an uncommon practice.

There are some things that don’t quite work, though. For one, it was already pretty barbaric to have the toothpaste come out of the minion’s mouth. Even worse, as it got messy over time, the design only started to look even grosser. There’s something unsettling about the eyes staring straight ahead too.
